Alert: HS2021-03: Potential Data Integrity Issue with Mirror Dejournaling - HealthShare

March 23, 2021 – Alert: HS2021-03: Potential Data Integrity Issue with Mirror Dejournaling - HealthShare

InterSystems has corrected a defect that can cause data inconsistency issues on non-primary mirror members in extremely rare circumstances.

This problem exists for:

  • HealthShare Unified Care Record/Information Exchange, Health Insight, and Patient Index version 15.02 and newer
  • HealthShare Personal Community version 12.0 and newer
  • HealthShare Provider Directory 2019.2, 2020.1 and 2020.2
  • HealthShare Health Connect and HSAP versions that support mirroring.

If the defect occurs, it happens silently during normal operation on a mirrored system. The result of this defect is that a mirror member fails to dejournal a subset of journal records, which then leads to data inconsistency across mirror members.  This affects both failover and async members.  Although this defect is very unlikely to be encountered, InterSystems recommends that all customers using mirroring obtain the corrections and verify the consistency of mirrored databases with DataCheck.

InterSystems recommends that all customers using mirroring verify the consistency of mirrored databases with DataCheck.  If issues are found with the consistency of mirrored databases after running DataCheck, please contact the WRC.  InterSystems also recommends customers request an adhoc that contains: SML2898, HYY2434, and HYY2435 and apply it to your instances that use mirroring.

The correction for this defect is identified as HSIEO-4081 which includes SML2898, HYY2434, and HYY2435 will be included in all future product releases. It is also available via Ad hoc change file (patch) or full kit distribution from the Worldwide Response Center (WRC).
