March 1, 2022 – Advisory: FHIR Queries May Omit Results
In some versions of InterSystems products, FHIR searches against resources using generic resource types as search parameters may result in omitted search results.
This problem affects the following products:
- HealthShare Unified Care Record 2019.2, 2020.2, 2020.2
- InterSystems IRIS for Health 2020.3, 2020.4
This issue is corrected in later versions of these products.
FHIR searches against resources that use search parameters based on references to generic "resource" types, as opposed to a specific resource (such as Practitioner), will not index properly and result in omitted search results.
- In HealthShare Unified Care Record, this issue impacts only the Composition resource in ODS FHIR endpoints. This correlates to IllnessHistory data in the SDA model.
This issue occurs only for stored IllnessHistory data in Unified Care Record with a FHIR search against Composition resources using the subject parameter (for example, '[...]/Composition?subject=XYZ')
- In IRIS for Health, this issue applies to any resource which has a search parameter that is indexed off a reference to a generic resource.
The correction for this defect is identified as IF-1824/HSIEC-6196. It is available via ad hoc change file or full kit distribution from the Worldwide Response Center (WRC).
