- Plan to use the FHIR Gateway for the CMS-0057 Patient Access API
Payer customers who are using the HealthShare FHIR Gateway for the Patient Access API are required by CMS 0057 to report on yearly usage of the Patient Access API starting January 1st 2026. In order to report on third-party access events, the ATNA audit event must be recorded by Client ID in the HealthShare ATNA log. In the affected versions, the Client ID is not recorded in the ATNA log.
The correction for this defect is identified as HSDD-3170. It is included in versions 2024.2 of Unified Care Record. It is also available for older versions via ad hoc change file (patch) or full kit distribution by contacting the Worldwide Response Center (WRC). Payer customers should consider installing this correction as soon as possible.
To locate patient access events that occurred before you installed the correction, you can use the information available in your API manager logs.
